Meet Dr. Bunnang

Dr. Usa Bunnag, DDS, FACD, FICD, FPFA is an internationally recognized general and cosmetic dentist, educator, humanitarian, and innovator with more than 32 years of clinical experience. Known for her warm chairside manner, meticulous attention to detail, and patient-first philosophy, she is dedicated to helping patients achieve lifelong oral health and naturally beautiful smiles through compassionate, personalized care.

Dr. Bunnag combines advanced clinical expertise with the latest innovations in dentistry, including digital dentistry, CEREC same-day restorations, Solea laser dentistry, 3D printing, clear aligner therapy, implant dentistry, facial esthetics, temporomandibular disorder (TMJ) therapy, and dental sleep medicine. She believes every patient deserves individualized treatment and takes the time to listen, educate, and develop customized care plans that prioritize comfort, function, and long-term wellness.

A lifelong learner, Dr. Bunnag continually pursues advanced education to remain at the forefront of modern dentistry. She is also passionate about mentoring the next generation of dental professionals and empowering women to pursue careers in dentistry, particularly in the rapidly evolving fields of digital dentistry and 3D printing.

Dr. Bunnag also serves as a key opinion leader in digital and laser dentistry for leading dental companies, including Solea (Convergent) and SprintRay, and is an educator for Patterson Dental and Henry Schein.

Dr. Bunnag’s dedication to excellence has earned her numerous prestigious honors. In 2017, she made history as the first woman dentist to receive the American Dental Association Humanitarian Award, recognizing her extraordinary commitment to humanitarian service. In 2018, she became the first woman recipient of the Distinguished Humanitarian Award from the International College of Dentists, USA Section. She is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists (FACD), the International College of Dentists (FICD), and the Pierre Fauchard Academy (FPFA)—three of dentistry’s most distinguished professional organizations, honoring leadership, ethics, scholarship, and service. She has been recognized as an Outstanding Alumna by both of her alma maters, Montgomery College and Howard University College of Dentistry, as well as by the American Association of Community Colleges.

Beyond private practice, Dr. Bunnag is the Founder and President of Smiles on Wings, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing humanitarian dental care and educational outreach in Thailand. Through her volunteer missions and charitable initiatives, she has improved the lives of countless individuals while inspiring dental professionals to use their skills in service to others. Her dedication to community service and leadership has earned her recognition as one of the Top 100 Women of Maryland, along with numerous commendations from county and Maryland state leaders.
