Solea Laser
We are always on the forefront of the latest technologies, which is why we are proud to use the Solea laser, by Convergent Dental. The Solea laser is the first CO2 laser cleared by the FDA for use in both hard and soft tissue procedures. Solea uses narrow beams of light energy that can penetrate the tissue, producing the ability to vaporize, remove or shape soft tissues such as the gums, cheeks and tongue. It can also penetrate hard tissue and remove decay.
We can use the Solea laser to correct many dental problems, from uncovering partially erupted wisdom teeth to removing lip pulls in orthodontic patients. Solea can also obtain small tissue samples in biopsy procedures to detect lesions or potential tumors in the mouth.
The Solea laser has several advantages for patients over traditional surgical options. For one, dental lasers like Solea can control the amount of bleeding during the treatment and can sometimes remove gum tissue without causing bleeding. There may also be less swelling and pain following the surgery as the laser can seal blood vessels and nerve endings.
The Solea laser also has advantages for patients seeking routine dental treatments like fillings. For one, the Solea system is reliably quiet, with little to no "drilling sound" to stoke patients' anxieties. Because the Solea laser is so precise and gentle, there is also rarely any need for anesthesia when removing dental decay. This also makes appointments with the Solea laser faster and more convenient for patients, since they don't need to wait for anesthesia to take effect before their procedure, or to wear off afterward.
